B20 China Second Joint Taskforce Meeting held in Paris to prepare for B20 policy recommendations

The Business 20 (B20) China Second Joint Taskforce Meeting was held on Tuesday in Paris to discuss and refine the final draft of the Policy Paper of each taskforce, and prepare for the final B20 Policy Recommendations to the G20.

B20 China Sherpa Yu Ping, along with the Financing Growth Taskforce, SME Development Taskforce, Trade and Investment Taskforce, Infrastructure Taskforce, Employment Taskforce discussed and reached a consensus on the policy recommendations.

They believed the draft of the Policy Paper generally represented the concerns and perspectives of the international business community on the development of global economy.

"We have developed 20 key recommendations covering major concerns of the G20 business community in the areas of financing growth, trade and investment, infrastructure, SME development, employment and anti-corruption," B20 China Sherpa Yu Ping said during the opening ceremony of the meeting.

According to him, the next steps of the meeting is to refine the taskforce papers, consolidate and develop the B20 policy paper, report the outcomes of the B20 policy paper to the G20 Third Sherpa's Meeting, plus some more outstretched meetings here and there.

Chinese vice minister of Commerce Wang Shouwen, Secretary-General of the OECD Angel Gurria, and Chairman of the Business and Industry Advisory Committee to the OECD Phil O'Reilly also attended the planery meeting.

B20 is a significant forum through which the international business community can participate in global economic governance and international economic and trade regulation, especially by providing policy recommendations for the annual meeting of the G20 leaders.

This year's B20 is held by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade as China is the president of G20 in 2016. Endit
