Estonian Prime Minister Taavi Roivas held talks with visiting Chinese State Councilor Yang Jing, with both sides pledging to advance bilateral cooperation in various areas.

Yang noted that this year marks the 25th anniversary of China-Estonia diplomatic ties and brings new opportunities for further improvement of bilateral ties.

He expressed China's willingness to work with Estonia to make the "Belt and Road" initiative match with Estonia's national development strategies and to boost both sides' practical cooperation both bilaterally and within the China-Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC) cooperation framework.

The Estonian prime minister said though hugely different in their geographic sizes, both countries have vast common interests as well as broad prospects for cooperation.

Roivas expressed the Estonian side's readiness to work with China to step up exchanges and cooperation in areas of economy and trade, culture, education, tourism, agriculture and interconnection and intercommunication.

He said Estonia is willing to actively participate in the construction of "Belt and Road" and the China-CEEC cooperation, with the aim to breathe new life into bilateral ties. Endit
