China's political advisors discussed mass innovation and entrepreneurship on Tuesday.

Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, presided over the symposium.

According to the post-meeting statement, innovation and entrepreneurship are important forces in the development of a nation and in improving people's quality of life.

The advisors suggested boosting innovation and entrepreneurship, through an enhanced role for the government, less institutional obstacles, strengthened intellectual property rights protection and better support for college graduates and S&T workers.

Addressing the meeting, Vice Premier Ma Kai urged authorities at all levels to improve their management and services as well as increase financial and legal support for new businesses.

On Monday, an event conflating the national conference on S&T, the biennial conference of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and the national congress of the China Association for Science and Technology was held in Beijing. Endi
