Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao met with Bruneian Princess Hajah Masna on Tuesday, pledging to promote a strategic cooperative relationship.

Li appreciated the contribution made by the Bruneian royal family to bilateral friendly relations.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic ties, Li said, adding China is willing to make joint efforts with Brunei to deepen political trust, strengthen traditional friendship and expand cooperation in energy, infrastructure construction and people-to-people exchanges.

Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi said in his meeting with Masna that relations between the two countries have maintained a good momentum and both sides make frequent high-level visits.

China and Brunei coordinate well in international and regional affairs, Yang said.

Masna said Brunei attaches great importance to the ties with China, expressing her hope that two countries will have more communication and cooperation in various fields. Endi
