Brazilian agriculture minister leaves for G20 meeting in China

Xinhua, May 31, 2016 Adjust font size:

Brazilian Agriculture Minister Blairo Maggi left for China on Monday for a Group of 20 (G20) meeting.

Maggi is scheduled to attend a meeting that groups agriculture ministers of G20 on Friday in the northwestern city of Xi'an, a press release said.

He will hold bilateral meetings with agriculture officials from Argentina, South Korea, Mexico, Russia and the European Union, it added.

The minister looks forward to using his trip to broaden the international market for Brazilian farm products, according to the release.

As part of a series of meetings prior to a G20 summit in Hangzhou in September, the agriculture ministers' meeting will focus on issues such as food security, nutrition, rural development and innovation. Endi
