Cuban President Raul Castro on Monday expressed interest in further developing ties with Belgium, according to an official release published by the Cuban News Agency.

Castro made the statement during a meeting with Belgian Deputy Primer Minister and Foreign Minister Didier Reynders, said the release.

Reynders met Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez early on Monday. They ratified their commitment to increasing bilateral collaboration in tourism, biotechnology, trade, among other fields.

Reynders is on a four-day visit to Cuba, during which he is set to meet Vice President Ricardo Cabrisas.
