Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on Saturday congratulated Nepalese Prime Minister Sharma Oli on the country's Republic Day.

In his message to Oli, Li said that China and Nepal always enjoy an equal and mutually beneficial relationship, get along well with each other and are mutually supportive.

China supports Nepal's endeavor to safeguard its sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, Li said.

The Chinese side stands ready to enhance long-term strategic cooperation with the Nepalese side in areas such as post-disaster reconstruction and connectivity to bring the China-Nepal comprehensive partnership of cooperation to a higher level, Li added.

On May 28, 2008, the first meeting of Nepal's Constitutional Assembly abolished the country's 240-year-old monarchy, turning it into a federal multiparty representative democratic republic. Endi
