Xinhua, May 28, 2016 Adjust font size:

Bahrain's national carrier Gulf Air announced on Friday its flight GF155 carrying 247 passengers from Manila to Bahrain had to make an emergency landing in India due to severe turbulence.

The plane was diverted to Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai and some passengers onboard were said to have suffered minor injuries.

"One passenger required medical attention," the airline said in a statement.

The flight resumed after a maintenance inspection and is expected to land in Bahrain International Airport later in the day. Endit
