Xinhua, May 27, 2016 Adjust font size:

Some 1,057 mainland students this year have been accepted by universities in Taiwan to undertake postgraduate studies, said the island's university entrance authorities on Friday.

Forty-seven universities in Taiwan recruited 251 PhD students and 71 universities enrolled 806 students in MA programs. Taiwan University, Taiwan Chengchi University, Fu Jen Catholic University and Tsing Hua University are the four major institutions offering places to these candidates. The majors include information technology, financing and management, and Chinese language and culture.

A total of 755 mainland students will graduate from Taiwan universities this year with a bachelor's degree. Among these, 287 will continue to study in Taiwan and pursue various MA programs.

With increasing education exchanges across the Taiwan Strait, about 4,000 mainland students pursue degrees in Taiwan each year. Endi
