Benin gov't to enhance business environment within five years

Benin's government plans to ensure the country has a competitive business environment to attract investments and promote economic development within the next five years, the director in the country's Economy and Finance ministry Servais Adjovi said Thursday.

To achieve this objective, the official said, Benin's government will develop the energy sector, enhance the agricultural sector, diversify export products and protect private initiatives.

According to the 2016 Doing Business report, in 2016 Benin achieved three key reforms in the area of starting a business, acquisition of construction permits and crossborder trade.

The country's efforts were recognized in the "2016 Doing Business" report because for two consecutive years, it has been categorized among the 10 best reformers in the world. Endit
