Malaga confirm Ramos as new coach

Xinhua, May 27, 2016 Adjust font size:

Spanish BBVA Primera Liga club Malaga on Friday confirmed that the experienced Juande Ramos will be their new coach with a three-year contract.

It will be the second spell at the club for the former Real Madrid, Tottenham and Sevilla coach, who also had spells with Betis and Rayo Vallecano.

Ramos, who returns to Malaga 12 years after his last spell on the south coast, replaces Javi Gracia, who confirmed earlier in the week that he was leaving Malaga to accept a highly-paid offer from Russian club Ruben Kazan.

Ramos faces a difficult talk on his return to Malaga given that 10 members of the first team squad, among them veterans such as Weligton, Duda and Roque Santa Cruz and other first team regulars such as Raul Albentosa and Duje Cop are out of contact at the end of June along with five loan players.

The summer will see a big reshuffle of the squad which rallied from a poor start last season to finish eighth in the league table. Endite
