Germany's benchmark DAX index advances

The benchmark DAX index at Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Tuesday advanced by more than two percent and closed above 10,000 points.

A weaker euro and rising oil prices contributed to the gains of the DAX index, according to local analysts. The blue-chip DAX index added 215.02 points, or 2.18 percent and closed at 10,057.31 points.

All the 30 DAX member shares gained on Tuesday. Volkswagen rose by 3.98 percent. Bayer climbed by 3.23 percent after losing 5.72 percent on Monday. Allianz surged by 3.05 percent. Muenchener Rueckversicherungs-Gesellschaft, a reinsurance and insurance company, added 2.8 percent and Fresenius, a medical care company went up by 2.8 percent. Deutsche Lufthansa rose by the smallest margin, up by 0.36 percent.

Bayer was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 710.9 million euros (792.47 million U.S. dollars). Endit
