Singapore stocks close 0.6 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 16.70 points, or 0.6 percent, to close at 2,750.23.

A total of 966.2 million shares changed hands with turnover of 726.7 million Singapore dollars (526.6 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 235 to 120, while 559 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 3.11 points, or 0.11 percent, to close at 2,766.93 on Monday. Endit
