Uganda has threatened military action if Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) soldiers continue to attack its security forces along the shared border.

Henry Okello-Oryem, Uganda's minister of state for international affairs, told an impromptu news conference on Monday that Uganda would not hesitate to "use the principle of hot pursuit" to protect its citizens and territory. (Uganda-Military)

NAIROBI -- At least three protesters were killed and more than 10 others critically injured during anti-electoral body protests in Western Kenya.

Two of the protesters were killed in Siaya County while another was killed in Kisumu during the demonstrations to press for reforms to the country's Independent Electoral and Boundary Commission (IEBC).

More than 10 others were reportedly shot by the anti-riot police officers who had been deployed to quell such riots across the country. (Kenya-Protest)

VIENNA -- Austrians rejected a possible right-wing president in the 2016 presidential election.

Alexander Van der Bellen, backed by the green party, won the presidential race with a narrow margin, Interior Minister Wolfgang Sobotka announced Monday.

In the neck-and-neck race, Van der Bellen got 50.3 percent of the ballot, only 31,026 votes more than Norbert Hofer's 49.7 percent votes. (Austria-Presidential Election)

CAIRO -- The Egyptian armed forces killed 13 militants during raids against militants' hideouts in the country's restive North Sinai province on Monday, a military spokesman said.

Weapons, ammunitions and landmines were found at the site, and three cars and two motorcycles belonging to the militants were destroyed in the attack, according to a statement.

The forces also found 100 barrels full of explosive materials and five bags of ammonium nitrate. (Egypt-Militants) Endi
