Evergrande snatches ninth constitutive victory in CSL

Guangzhou Evergrande defeated Liaoning Whowin 3-0 in the 10th round of the 2016 Chinese Super League(CSL) on Saturday, winning nine straight games and equalling a record it set in 2014 season.

The longest streak record in CSL was set by Shandong Luneng with 13 consecutive victories ten years ago.

Zheng Zhi broke the deadlock for the defending champion in the 18th minute, and Borges de Carvalho' s ground shot found the net in the 36th minute.

Ricardo Goulart enlarged the advantage to 3-0 in the 46th minute by a close range volley shot, after receiving a chest-high pass from Huang Bowen. The victory has secured Evergrande's place at the top of the CSL standings.

The runner-up temporarily Jiangsu Suning lost to Tianjin Teda 0-1 on Saturday night. Mbaye Diagne dribbled into the penalty zone in the 25th minute and his grazing shot brought Jiangsu the first failure in the year' s season.

In the other two games on Saturday, Shanghai SIPG edged Hangzhou Greenland 1-0, while Shandong Luneng hold a 0-0 draw with Henan Jianye.

Beijing Guoan announced on the same day that, Italian Alberto Zaccheroni was not its chief coach any longer. As one of the title favorites, Beijing only had got nine points after nine rounds. Endit
