Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi met with Argentine Foreign Minister Susana Malcorra here on Friday.

Yang hailed the stable growth of bilateral relations since the formation of Argentina's new government, calling on both sides to implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries.

China and Argentina should expand high-level exchanges, promote exchanges and cooperation in various fields and maintain close communication and coordination on major international and regional issues, Yang said.

Malcorra said Argentina's new government will continue to be firmly committed to developing its comprehensive strategic partnership with China. Argentina firmly adheres to the one-China policy and will do a good job in implementing major cooperation projects with China, Malcorra said, adding that the country supports China in hosting the G20 summit in Hangzhou.
