China donates drugs to Guinea Bissau hospital

Xinhua, May 20, 2016 Adjust font size:

Chinese Embassy in Guinea Bissau on Thursday donated drugs to Canchungo hospital, located 72 km from the capital, Bissau.

The donation, estimated to cost 7 million CFA Francs (about 12,000 U.S. dollars), was handed over by Chinese ambassador to the country, Wang Hua, in the presence of local authorities.

"This support demonstrates the existing friendship between the two countries," Wang said, adding that Guinea Bissau needs support in various sectors such as education, agriculture and health.

Francisco Amadu Balde, regional head of the health department, hailed the Chinese gesture, and promised to ensure the drugs reach the needy population. Endit
