Chinese stocks closed higher on Friday, led by military enterprises.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.66 percent to end at 2,825.48 points. The smaller Shenzhen index closed 0.85 percent higher at 9,816.75 points.

The ChiNext Index, which tracks China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, gained 1.37 percent to close at 2,065.30 points.

Turnover fell to 365.9 billion yuan (55.86 billion U.S. dollars), compared with 376 billion yuan the previous trading day.

Military enterprises led the rises. Beijing BDStar Navigation Co. jumped 7.58 percent to finish at 28.23 yuan.

Quantum communication stocks closed generally higher, as an international exhibition on battery technology is going to be held in Shenzhen on Tuesday. Tianjin Benefo Tejing Electric Co. rose by the 10-percent daily limit to end at 13.88 yuan. Endi
