Ten Jordanian students were honored on Thursday and awarded certificates after they took part in a national competition for learning Chinese language.

Ten female university students from several universities took part in the 7th edition of the competition.
"This is a very important competition. It brings the people of the two countries closer to each others. This competition is a testimony to the growing ties between Jordan and China, and those who learn Chinese have a key role in this regard," Azmi Mahafza, president of the University of Jordan, said in a speech at the ceremony where the results were announced.
"The ties between China and Jordan, and China and the Arab world are historic and growing in all the levels," said Mahafza during the event.
For his part, Chinese Ambassador in Amman Pan Weifang stressed the importance of the completion.
He said that the completion plays an important role in enhancing cultural ties between Jordan and China.
"At the embassy, we will continue to support you and are willing to provide more support for increasing cooperation in this regard," said the ambassador, highlighting the fields of education and culture as key areas for collaboration between the two sides.
