Spanish treasury places 2.454 bln euros on market

The Spanish treasury on Thursday placed treasury bonds worth of 2.454 billion euros (2.744 billion U.S. dollars) on the market.

A total of 1.409 billion euros worth of three-year treasury bonds fetched an average interest rate of 0.012 percent, a further about 560 million euros worth of 10-year treasury bonds carried an average interest rate of 1.15 percent while the remaining about 484 million euros worth of 15-year treasury bonds fetched an average interest rate of 2.05 percent.

After the auction Spain's risk premium stood at 141.70 points and Spain's 10-year bond interest rate at 1.6 percent.

So far, the Spanish treasury has placed 56.9 billion euros of medium and long term debt on the market, which represents 47.3 percent of the country's financial goals for the year's 120.3 billion euros. Endit
