Heavy rain to sweep south China

China's meteorological authority said on

Wednesday that heavy rain is expected in southern regions in the next three days.

Rain of up to 220 millimeters is expected to hit parts of Anhui, Guizhou, Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, and Zhejiang from Thursday to Saturday morning, according to the National Meteorological Center.

Some of these areas will also see thunderstorms and gales, the statement said.

The center suggested people reduce outdoor activity during rainy days and take precautions against floods and landslides. Endit
