Uganda to send team for 2016 Roma Rugby Sevens event

Uganda' s national rugby team is preparing for the 2016 Roma Rugby Sevens women' s championship slated for June 10-11 in Italy.

Ramzy Olinga, the Chief Executive Officer of the Uganda Rugby Union said on Tuesday that the team has started training for the event that will attract big teams from across the world.

He said the Ugandan players will use the opportunity to showcase their talent in Europe.

He said besides the women' s team preparing for the Italy event, the men' s team has also embarked on training ahead of the first leg of the regional Elgon Cup slated for June 4 in Kampala.

Uganda is the defending champion of the Cup. It will face off with Kenya. Endit
