The Spanish national police force have confirmed they have made a surprising haul of 171 kilos of cocaine at the port of Algeciras in the south-west of the country following an operation in which a box of fruit turned out to contain a great deal more than expected.

The drugs had an estimated street value of around 17 million euros (19 million U.S. dollars) and had arrived from the Colombian port of Turbo. (Spain-Drug)

VIENNA -- The presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan have reiterated their commitment to a ceasefire between the two countries and the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in a multilateral meeting here Monday, according to a joint statement.

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met with the foreign ministers of the co-chair countries of the Minsk Group under the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) such as Russia, the United States and France on Monday in the Austrian capital Vienna. HAVANA -- The U.S. economic sanctions against Cuba still impeded the development of bilateral ties despite normalization of relations, a Cuban official said on Monday, urging the United States to lift them.

"Despite the steps that have been taken there are still significant restrictions that limit U.S. exports; very few Cuban products can be imported into the United States and there are no normal banking relations between both countries," said Josefina Vidal, the Cuban Foreign Ministry's chief of U.S. affairs. BAGHDAD -- A total of 31 people were killed and 82 others wounded on Tuesday in three bomb attacks, including a suicide one, in Iraqi capital of Baghdad, security sources said.

One of the attacks occurred in Shaab district when a roadside bomb detonated at a crowded market and was followed by a massive explosion of a suicide bomber who blew up his explosive vest, leaving 15 people dead and 37 wounded, a police source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
