An Israeli man was wounded on Monday in an apparent stabbing attack in Jerusalem, Israeli police said.
The victim was wounded slightly in his upper limbs near Nevi'im Street in Jerusalem, police spokeswoman Luba Samri said in a statement.
The suspected attacker, described as a 20-year-old Palestinian man from the West Bank area, initially fled the scene, dropping his knife, but was later apprehended by police, Samri said.
This is the latest incident in a wave of violence which started in October and claimed the lives of 28 Israelis and 203 Palestinians.
The Israeli victims were killed in stabbing, shooting and car-ramming attacks, whereas the Palestinians were killed in clashes with Israeli security forces during protests or gunned down after trying to carry out attacks against Israelis.
Last week, an Israeli soldier was seriously wounded after an explosive device went off at a checkpoint north of Jerusalem.
On Sunday, Israeli security forces announced they had caught two Palestinian suspects for the attack. The Israeli soldier's condition had since improved and he is now hospitalized in moderate condition.
Israel accuses the Palestinian National Authority of inciting violence, whereas the Palestinians insist it is the result of 49 years of Israeli occupation of the West Bank, east Jerusalem and Gaza Strip territories, where they wish to establish their own state. Endit
