(sport) Pakistan women team to feature in Asian senior netball championship

Pakistani women team will feature in the 10th Asian Senior Women Netball Championship in Thailand later this year, officials said on Sunday.

President of the Pakistan Netball Federation, Mudassar Razak Arain, said that Pakistani women team comprising 12 players and two officials will participate in the event, scheduled to be held from July 29 to August 6 in Thailand

"We have finalized a strong side for the championship but our participation in the event will be conditional with the permission from the gov't," the official said.

Arain said, "Pakistan team had grabbed a bronze medal in the South Asian Games this year, and we hope that it will continue its performance."

Total sixteen teams, including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Nepal, Afghanistan, India, Pakistan, South Korea, Japan, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Brunei, Bahrain and Philippines.

Singapore team will defend its title that it won by defeating Sri Lanka at home in 2014. Endit
