FC Barcelona coach Luis Enrique is looking forward to a party after his side won 3-0 away to Granada on Saturday to claim the Spanish BBVA Primera Liga title.
Luis Suarez's hat-trick in the Los Carmenes stadium was enough to start the celebrations as Barca retain the title they won last season and which they have won six times in the last eight years.
"I am a bit boring, but I hope the players have a big party and although I am 46 years old, I will do my best to adapt and have a good time," joked the coach, who said he would "remember the people who have supported me in the difficult times and the fans who have always been with us."
He said he was pleased with his side's display in a game in which they "controlled all of the phases of play. It seems as if we knew how to play the game and I thought we played well."
Barca had momentarily trailed Real Madrid in the table after Cristiano Ronaldo had put Madrid ahead away to Deportivo la Coruna, but Suarez's first goal in the 21st minute, put Barca back on top.
"Once we had taken a 1-0 lead we had to maintain a structure which allowed us to keep the ball and pressure our rivals. We were able to control their attacks and also their set pieces," said Enrique.
Finally the Barca coach insisted that Granada, who avoided relegation with a 4-1 win in Sevilla last weekend, had tried their best to beat them.
"Granada had achieved their objective and they went out to play their game. It was difficult for us to win and we needed to score as soon as possible, which fortunately is what happened," he explained.
Barca defender Gerard Pique also highlighted the importance of the 24th league title in Barca's history.
"This is an important moment for the club. Nobody has ever won six titles from a possible eight," commented Pique. Endit
