Sudanese president attends Museveni's swearing in despite ICC arrest warrant

Sudanese President Omar Al Bashir on Thursday attended the swearing in ceremony of Uganda's president for another term despite an arrest warrant by the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Bashir joined the rest of his other African leaders to witness President Yoweri Museveni's swearing in for another five-year term in office.

James Mugume, the permanent secretary Uganda's ministry of foreign affairs told Xinhua in an interview on Wednesday that Museveni invited his Sudanese counterpart to witness the event.
