Xinhua, May 11, 2016 Adjust font size:

Three people were killed and one injured Monday night when gunmen stormed a bar in southwest Burundi, local authorities said Tuesday.

The attack by unidentified gunmen wearing police uniforms happened at around 10:00 p.m. in a bar in Maramvya, Burambi district of Rumonge province, 70km south of the Burundian capital Bujumbura, said Burambi district administrator Adelaide Nduwimana.

"They shot dead three persons including two retired soldiers and a young man. Another young man was seriously injured and evacuated to Rumonge hospital," said Nduwimana, adding that investigations have started to identify the criminals.

Other sources indicated that five persons were arrested over their alleged participation in the attack.

Earlier in April, unidentified gunmen killed two persons and injured four others in a bar attack in Burambi. Enditem
