Philippine presidential candidate Manuel Roxas on Tuesday conceded defeat to his opponent, Davao city mayor Rodrigo Duterte.

At a press conference at around 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, the administration standard bearer expressed his gratitude to incumbent President Benigno Aquino who supported him through the presidential campaign. He also thanked all his supporters.

Roxas said based on the unofficial tally, it was clear that the tough-talking mayor has won.

Latest statistics from the partial and unofficial Comelec Transparency server showed Duterte had already won 15,342,569 among 92 percent counted valid ballots. Roxas came the second with only 9,249,813 votes. Endit
