Togo youth leader calls for security enhancement

Xinhua, May 9, 2016 Adjust font size:

The president of Togo's National Youth Council Regis Batchassi on Sunday appealed for reinforcement of public security across the entire national territory.

His recommendations are in line with a government program aimed at integrating youths in the enhancement of security in Togo.

Batchassi said youths across the country welcomed a proposal by Togolese President Faure Gnassingbe to have them incorporated in the community policing program to boost security.

"The proposal will see police officers who are always in contact with the population, grow more closer to the latter. Community police officers will be the people's police," the youth leader said, adding that "these officers who will mostly be youths, will be informed quickly in case of any security threat." Endit
