S. Korean woman suspected of contracting Zika in Vietnam

Xinhua, May 9, 2016 Adjust font size:

A 25-year-old South Korean woman was suspected of contracting Zika in Vietnam, local media reported Monday.

The woman, South Korea's 4th Zika patient, spent nearly one month working in Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City, and left Vietnam for South Korea on May 1.

She has just been confirmed by South Korea to have been infected with the Zika virus, daily newspaper Tuoi Tre (Youth) quoted the Preventive Medicine Department under the Vietnamese Health Ministry as saying.

If the woman was infected with the virus in Vietnam, this would be the 3rd Zika case in the Southeast Asian nation. Vietnam reported the first and second cases in central Khanh Hoa province and Ho Chi Minh City in April. Endit
