Value of tradable shares down 0.69 pct

The value of tradable shares on the Shanghai and Shenzhen bourses dropped to 35.16 trillion yuan (5.39 trillion U.S. dollars) at close on Friday, down 0.69 percent from a week earlier, data showed.

Total market capitalization of the two stock markets hit 44.6 trillion yuan, a decrease of 0.43 percent week on week, according to data from the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges.

The average stock price on the two markets fell 0.79 percent from one week earlier to 10.08 yuan.

There are 1,098 companies listed on the Shanghai exchange and 1,768 in Shenzhen, with price-earning ratios of 14.26 and 37.91, respectively.

The benchmark Shanghai composite index declined 0.85 percent from one week earlier to end at 2,913.25. The Shenzhen composite index dipped 0.41 percent from a week earlier to close at 10,100.54. Endi
