Cote d'Ivoire Speaker urges joint efforts in fighting terrorism

Xinhua, May 6, 2016 Adjust font size:

Speaker of Cote d'Ivoire Parliament, Guillaume Soro, on Thursday called for joint efforts to effectively fight against terrorism.

Soro was speaking in Abidjan during the 14th Afro-Arab Parliamentary Conference.

"I reiterate my appeal for solidarity, international cooperation and mobilization of all member states. I believe regular sharing of intelligence and experience as well as provision of necessary equipments will be an effective way of fighting against terrorism," he said.

Afro-Arab Parliamentary Conference is a platform that brings together two inter-parliamentary organizations, the African Parliamentary Union and the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union.

It was created in March 1985 in Senegal, which aimed to promote contacts between African and Arab parliaments through information sharing.

The 14th Afro-Arab conference was held in Abidjan in a context characterized by recent terrorist attacks in several African and Arab countries. Endit
