Guinea Bissau health, education sectors paralysed by strikes over pay

Xinhua, May 5, 2016 Adjust font size:

Trade unions in Guinea Bissau's health and education sectors on Wednesday started a 30-day strike over their alleged unpaid wages and allowances.

The unions said they would not suspend the strikes unless the arrears were paid.

The two sectors had seen at least two strikes respectively since January.

Teaching at Guinea Bissau's public schools have remained suspended in the last two months. Endit
