Slovak Parliamentary Chairman and Slovak National Party leader Andrej Danko, was discharged from hospital after undergoing stomach surgery, it was announced Monday.

Danko was discharged from the National Oncology Institute to receive assisted care at home, hospital spokesperson Viktoria Vasilenkova said.

The Slovak leader was diagnosed with cancer, affecting his stomach wall, which is why doctors opted for surgery.

Danko is supposed to rest for at least 14 days and follow a strict diet.

"My treatment doesn't require any radiotherapy, radiology or pills," said Danko, adding that he'd like to return to work in no more than two weeks. Enditem
