Gun battle kills 7 Taliban fighters

A clash between security forces and Taliban in Raghistan district of the northern Badakhshan province left seven militants including two local commanders dead on Sunday night, a security official in the province, Abdul Khalil said Monday.

Two Taliban commanders Qari Abdul Qahar and Pahlawan Habib are also among those killed in the fighting.

Three more insurgents sustained injuries in the clash and the militants fled away, the official asserted.

Meanwhile, Taliban outfit in an online statement confirmed fighting in Raghistan district on Sunday claiming the insurgents have killed three security personnel and injured three others. Enditem
