Bullet found on Fiji Airways aircraft

Xinhua, May 2, 2016 Adjust font size:

A bullet was found on board a Fiji Airways aircraft in January this year, the government-owned Fiji Broadcasting Corporation (FBC) confirmed Monday.

The aircraft in question had just completed its commercial flight from Auckland, New Zealand to Nadi, Fiji on Jan. 8 when the bullet was discovered by ground cleaning crew upon arrival at the Nadi International Airport, the FBC said.

The national airline immediately followed procedures and alerted local authorities, which quarantined the aircraft and launched an investigation. The aircraft was subsequently cleared and released for operations.

"Fiji Airways says it has strict procedures in place, as the safety and security of passengers and crew is the airline's highest priority," said the FBC. Endit
