The following are the highlights of Zambia's major media outlets on Sunday.

-- Six fishermen drowned while four others swum to safety after a boat they were traveling in capsized on a swamp in central Zambia's Chibombo district.

Police assistant public relations officer Esther Katongo said the incident happened on Thursday but did not state what caused the accident. (ZAMBIA DAILY MAIL)

-- Zambian President Edgar Lungu has assured small scale farmers that his government will buy their maize in the next marketing season.

Lungu said in northern Zambia's Chinsali district the government will ensure that it buys the maize at a better price, adding that it was important farmers be incentivized with attractive prices for their crop so that they could expand their crop production. (DAILY NATION)

-- A senior traditional leader said politicians were responsible for perpetrating negative tribalism in order to gain power.

Paramount Chief Chitimukulu of northern Zambia said politicians were creating tribalism in the county because there was no negative tribalism before the country got independence in 1964. He has since called on politicians to put their differences aside, adding that tribalism was a negative way of protecting selfish interests. (THEPOST)

-- Erratic water supply has continued in Lusaka, the Zambian capital, despite assurances by the water utility that the situation will normalize.

Most parts of the city were hit by water shortages on Monday last week while other areas have been experiencing erratic supply for the past weeks despite assurances by the Lusaka Water and Sewerage Company despite that the situation will normalize.

Topsy Sikalinda, the company's public relations manager said water supply has been restored in some parts and that the entire city would have supply once maintenance works were completed. (ZAMBIA DAILY MAIL) Endit
