Gunfire in Istanbul kills one, injures several others

Xinhua, April 30, 2016 Adjust font size:

One person was killed and several others injured by a handmade explosive amid exchange of gunfire between two groups in Istanbul on Saturday, Turkish media reported.

The conflict erupted in a car gallery when armed men threw a handmade explosive and opened fire at people inside in Istanbul's neighborhood of Florya, prompting a return of gunfire from the gallery's owner and his workers, the Hurriyet daily said.

One person was killed and an unspecified number of others were wounded, the daily said, noting the two warring groups have long been in conflict with each other.

The police have opened an investigation into the incident, the report said. Endit
