Xinhua, April 29, 2016 Adjust font size:

China's top paddlers Liu Shiwen and Li Xiaoxia entered the Table Tennis 2016 Nakheel Asian Cup women's singles final here on Friday, beating Tie Yana from Hong Kong, China and title defender Feng Tianwei from Singapore respectively in the semis.

Losing in straight 0-4, Tie, 36 and 20th in the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Rankings, said, "I felt exhausted after the quarterfinal." Therefore she could not play her maximum against the world No. 1 Liu Shiwen who dominated the match with her agile and flexible attacking style.

Liu, 25, said, "Both Feng and Li Xiaoxia would be tough opponents in the final."

Feng, 29, lost 4-2 to Li.

"Li suffered from skin allergy head of this tournament and we did a lot effort to overcome the allergy and to regain her optimum," said the Chinese women's team coach Kong Linghui.

Li added that she just learnt before the match that she received her admission to play the Summer Olympic Games in Rio "and that boosted my morale."

Feng, ranking 7th in the world, also admitted to have lost energy after the quarterfinal, but said she would look forward to play the Rio Olympics. Enditem
