Tanzania creates advisory bureau on oil and gas utilization

Xinhua, April 29, 2016 Adjust font size:

Tanzania has established a gas and oil advisory bureau in order to better utilize the natural resources, an official says.

Angella Kairuki, a Minister of State in the President's Office, told parliament on Thursday the bureau was set up against the backdrop of reports that Tanzania has in total 57 trillion cubic feet of natural gas reserves.

The advisory bureau is under the president's office and is expected to advise the cabinet on policies and strategies in the oil and gas industry.

"The bureau will advise the cabinet on investment policies, laws and regulations that govern oil and gas economy," the minister said. Endit
