Int'l flower fair kicks off in Bratislava

Xinhua, April 29, 2016 Adjust font size:

The 37th International Flower Fair, Flora Bratislava 2016, opened its gates here on Thursday.

"This year, we've chosen Sandersonia from South Africa as the flower of the fair," said Katarina Kullova from Garden centrum Kulla, who has organised this fair since 1993.

"The orange bell-shaped flower is hard to find at our florists and quite unknown to public. Due to its impressive fineness, we'd like to present it to the public and teach them to nurture it correctly," explained Kullova.

Some 185 exhibitors from Slovakia, Hungary, France, Poland, Germany, Italy, the Czech Republic and the Netherlands are presenting their floral and garden products and services.

Cut flowers, potted plants, ornamental plants, seeds, various decorative materials, fountains, agents for plant care and fertilising, irrigation systems, garden buildings and furniture, greenhouses, literature, consultations, wine and wine making equipment will be showcased at the exhibition.

Flora Bratislava will run until Sunday. Endit
