1st LD: Provincial prosecutor gunned down, son injured in W. Afghanistan

Unknown armed men gunned down a provincial prosecutor and injured his son in the western Herat province, 640 km west of Kabul on Thursday, provincial police spokesman Abdul Rauf Ahmadi said.

"Unidentified armed men opened fire on prosecutor Samihudin Raheen next to his residence at around 04:00 p.m. local time today (Thursday), killing him on the spot and injuring his son," Ahmadi told Xinhua.

The official, however, didn't provide more details.

No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the attack. Endit
