The second case of the Zika virus was detected in South Korea from a man having traveled to the Philippines, local media reported Wednesday, citing the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC).

The 20-year-old man, who had made a trip to the Southeast Asian country for five days through April 14, tested positive for the mosquito-borne virus. (S.Korea-Zika)

MANILA -- Philippine President Benigno S. Aquino III vowed Wednesday not to pass on to the next administration the problem brought by the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) using the full might of the state.

In a statement he issued following the beheading of John Ridsdel, a Canadian national, by the ASG bandits, Aquino said his government has proven before that it would choose "all-out justice over all-out war." (Pilippines-Abu Sayyaf-Fight)

KUALA LUMPUR -- Malaysian government on Wednesday announced the replacement of its long-time central bank governor Zeti Akhtar Aziz.

The incumbent deputy governor of Bank Negara Malaysia will assume the position of governor from May 1 for a five-year tenure, replacing Zeti who retires on April 30, the Prime Minister's Office said in a statement. (Malaysia-Central Bank Governor)

PHNOM PENH-- Cambodia dispatched on Wednesday the third batch of troops to join a United Nations peacekeeping mission in the conflict-torn West African nation of Mali, a senior military official said.

The 309-member group would replace the second team, whose one-year term had come to an end, said Gen. Sem Sovanny, director-general of the Cambodian National Center for Peacekeeping Force, adding that they would work on airport repairs and explosive ordnance disposal. (Cambodia-Peacekeeping) Endit
