The following are news highlights in Ethiopia's major media outlets on Wednesday.

-- Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn said the country would maintain the support it has been extending towards a peaceful Somalia in a strengthened manner.

While holding talks with President Sheikh Mohamoud at his office on Monday, the Premier said his country would keep up its pacifying role of consolidating stability in Somalia and fighting terrorism in the Horn of Africa country. (Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation/EBC)

--Attaining goals set for the second phase of Ethiopia's Growth and Transformation Plan and the Sustainable Development Goals require strong collective effort, according to the National Planning Commission.

Commissioner Yinager Dessie said Ethiopia is committed to replicate MDG successes in implementing the 2030 agenda.

-- Norway is allocating an additional NOK 30 million (around 3.7 million U.S. dollars) in humanitarian aid to support people affected by an extremely severe drought in Ethiopia, said Børge Brende, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway.
