Algeria, UAE discuss military, energy cooperation

The visiting United Arab Emirates' (UAE) Energy Minister Soheil al-Mazraoui on Tuesday held talks with Algerian Vice Minister of National Defense Ahmed Gaid Salah.

According to a statement of the defense ministry, the talks focused on ways to boost partnership projects between the two countries, particularly in the field of military manufacturing.

The statement said Algerian-Emirati cooperation in military manufacturing has witnessed in recent years development, especially in the fields of engineering industries, including manufacturing pneumatic armored vehicles, trucks and buses.

Earlier in the day, the UAE minister met with Algerian officials, including Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal.

The two officials discussed the current situation of the international energy market, as they agreed to continue bilateral consultations in a bid to restore stability to oil prices, the APS news agency said. Endit
