South Sudan's rebel leader Dr. Riek Machar arrived in Juba on Tuesday, to take up the post of Vice-President as part of the August 2015 peace deal to end more than two years of civil war.

ROME -- The Italian police on Tuesday arrested nine people in an anti-corruption operation in the southern Caserta province near Naples, local media reported.
A former mayor of the city of Santa Maria Capua Vetere was among those arrested, together with other public officials and some local businessmen, according to AGI news agency. (Italy-Anti-corruption)

YEREVAN -- Two passengers were killed and seven others injured on Monday in a bus explosion in Yerevan, police said.
A criminal investigation has been opened into the case based on a legal provision concerning safety requirements.

JAKARTA -- Indonesian President Joko Widodo will hold talks with military chiefs and foreign ministers from the Philippine and Malaysia this week to step up maritime security after the kidnapping of Indonesians at sea by Abu Sayyaf terrorist group.

JERUSALEM -- Israeli security forces arrested overnight three Palestinians in east Jerusalem for allegedly planning an attack against Israelis, authorities said Tuesday.
The three suspects, originally from Nablus in the West Bank, were arrested at the east Jerusalem neighborhood of Jabel Mukaber, the Israeli Shin Bet security agency said in a statement. (Israel-Palestinian) Endi
