The following are the highlights of Zambia's major media outlets on Tuesday.

-- Over 50 residents of Lusaka, the Zambian capital, who were arrested for participation in looting foreign-owned shops last week have pleaded not guilty to a charge of riotous behavior.

The residents appeared in various courts charged with rioting but they have all pleaded not guilty and trial in the matter is expected to commence on May 9. (THE POST)

-- The Zambian government said authorities in Uganda have opened an inquiry against remarks by one of Zambia's veteran politicians who insinuated that the general elections in that country were allegedly manipulated in favor of President Yoweri Museveni by Al Ghurair Printing and Publishing Company, a Dubai-based printing firm. (DAILY NATION)

-- Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) have agreed on terms to supply maize to that country from Zambian private entities, in a latest bid to stop smuggling.

Minister of Agriculture Given Lubinda said that following meetings between Zambia and a delegation from the DR Congo, it was agreed that the Congolese could import Zambian maize held by the private sector. (TIMES OF ZAMBIA)
