Rossi takes revenge with win in Spanish Moto GP

Xinhua, April 25, 2016 Adjust font size:

Valentino Rossi won the Spanish Moto GP in Jerez on Sunday after a race which he dominated almost from start to finish.

The Italian, who last year had a well-publicized spat with Spanish riders, Marc Marquez and Jorge Lorenzo as Lorenzo won the World title, took full advantage of his place in pole position to take what was ultimately an easy win ahead of Lorenzo and Marquez.

With 13 laps left, Rossi had a three second advantage over Lorenzo, who worked to close the gap briefly down to two seconds, but when Rossi again stretched his lead Lorenzo dedicated his efforts to conserving second place ahead of Marquez and with Dani Pedrosa in third.

Before the Moto GP, Alex Rins won the Moto 1 race ahead of Sam Lowes and Johan Zarco, while Brad Blinder took the honors in Moto 2. Endit
