1st LD Writethru: Shooter reportedly at large after killing at least 7: media

Xinhua, April 23, 2016 Adjust font size:

A shooter was at large on Friday after shooting incidents left at least seven people dead at three different crime scenes in southern Ohio, local media said.

Investigators did not believe the targets were randomly chosen, since all seven victims were family members, U.S. TV network Fox News quoted sources as saying.

One of the scenes was a home east of Peebles in Pike County. Ohio's Bureau of Criminal Investigation sent more than a dozen agents to investigate, Fox News reported.

Few details about the incidents were available at the moment and local daily Chillicothe Gazette quoted a spokeswoman for Ohio's attorney general Mike DeWine as saying that nobody had been arrested as of Friday morning.

Ohio Governor John Kasich, campaigning in Pennsylvania for his Republican presidential bid, said his office was monitoring the situation in Pike County.

"Reports we are receiving from Peebles are tragic beyond comprehension," Kasich wrote on his Twitter account. Endit
